@Moshe Well, you seemed to say this was the work of God. Personally, I just think it was a natural event. It may be the work of God, but I have no way of knowing it.
@GeorgeM correct. I do believe that Gd created what we call nature. Nature as we know it is a predictable pattern of behavior of everything in the world.
I also believe that Gd created free will. If things were always obvious miracles, we wouldn't have the choice between doing what we should do and what we shouldnt do.

In other words, Gd does what you would expect him to do most of the time, and when he does things a bit differently, it's called nature. When things go really out of whack, it's a miracle.
@Moshe We differ on interpretation that things are running "willy nilly." I would say that they are running according to plan, of their own volition. Not to mention that God is "pulling the strings."
@GeorgeM correct. I agree with that. I don't have much of a specific tradition on how Gd created the world either, except that he did it in six days and with "one word". Honestly, no clue what that means. In fact, the first several days were without the sun or moon, so there were no "days" as we know them in twenty four hour lengths.
Do you want to go with the "big bang" as the mechanism or a complete world or some other way?
@Moshe Ok, so what's the point of mentioning the fact that he created the world in 6 days? Stating things like that seem to misrepresent your position. Or, I tend to interpret those statements as coming from someone w/ a literal interpretation of the scripture.
Who told the fruit that people like sweet juice? Who told the fruit it needs to help to spread its seeds? Who told a fruit that it has seeds? That it wants to propagate?
@Moshe In fact, if you take the software analogy, you're suggesting that God is indeed imperfect. I as a programmer wouldn't intervene in any program I wrote, if I wrote correctly the first time.
I just know that Gd wants something and I beloeve that the bible is the instruction manual.
@Benjol I'm Jewish not Christian. Let's be clear here. There are as many misconceptions about religious people as there are the other way around.

@Moshe Ok, I think I see your position on God's involvement with the world. However, I don't see how that leads to the notion of constant intervention. Granted, I also come at this from the Christian position. (Namely, sometimes bad stuff happens to good people just because it happens.)
@GeorgeM that's where we differ. If I am correct, and this may be a misconception, but in Christianity, questions are discouraged and saying "I don't know" is not an option.
@Moshe I guess it depends on who you ask. I don't think it's generally true of all of Christianity. In fact, for those with the smallest of clues, doubt is natural for everyone one of us.
@Moshe I'm not sure , but certain plants and animals were co-dependent in one way or another right from the time plants were algae. I know for sure that plants can sense the environment, they emit some kinda particles that helps them detect possible enemies and friends.

@balpha, are you sure? It doesn't explode, I know, but if you check in inspect resources, the keys don't have the prefix (at least they didn't for me);

@Pekka He could apologies for not handling it correctly, and start afresh given how that thread has half of the complains already fixed, so its too messy to continue
@YiJiang I don't even expect an apology - that is really hard when 300 people cry bloody murder, I can understand that somewhat. Just getting on a more constructive track would be enough for me already
@Pekka The problem was that half the question got filled up with things that were implemented almost as soon as people complained about. Really very stupid to remove first, then fix things slowly
Yup - the question was a mess. Best thing would have been to lock it and post new questions with the relevant details. Those questions could have then been marked as status-completed or feature-request
That way everyone would be able to see what was wrong, what had been fixed and what was in the pipeline.
There was too much nonsense and people getting over emotional in that question. Splitting it out in to "useful" questions should have been the way to go not just deleting it because you are in charge :-/
@YiJiang Why not? It didn't work and was taking up space. Makes enough sense to me. Maybe they should work on it and bring it back, of course, but otherwise meh.
@TimStone Its a great way to visualize rep changes - look at the rep tab now - its essentially one large spreadsheet. And you know what goes well with spreadsheets? Graphs. Mmmhmmmm...
That flot doesn't work as well as you'd like it is a technical problem. There's a ton of graph solutions out there, take any one of them and integrate it
