Okay, sounds like that might be causing what I was seeing

From the front page, it says that the last bit of activity was around then

but I don't see that user anywhere when i click on my question

I guess that "activity" was related to deleting the question

It's actually referring to when the answer was posted originally, but yeah, it's still counts despite the answer having been subsequently deleted.
