A lot of gamers use flower charts and process models in their game. What set of graphical representations work for rpgs and why?

I feel bad that the one question unanswered (even with a bounty) is the only Shadowrun question we've had. Is this game still played? Anyone know any active forums to go and recruit? I looked and found a few inactive ones but I didn't really look that hard.

I have a wizard (multiclassed as a bard, if that matters) who wants to transfer ongoing damage from an ally to himself. I know I've seen one, but can't remember where. I don't want it use the armor slot if at all possible.

What games involving roleplaying put the focus on the playing of the roles, relegating other factors (such as combat) to lesser status? And of those, how do their mechanics reward roleplaying?
